Fun in the Sun with my Whirling Wings !!
Hi Gang !! I haven't posted for a while because I was having problems logging in. I have been flying the heck out of my twin rotor Whizard conversion. I have about 70 flights on it now, and it is performing well. My last upgrade was to switch to a 8-4 from a 7-6, and the Magnum .15 will pull my 2-lb. bird straight up !!!!! The motor is well broken in now, and I can tweak the needle valve for max performance. Loops, Immelmanns, stall turns, flat spins, and hovering at near zero airspeed are loads of fun !!! I still blow a landing here and there, but the Whizard conversion is so lightweight, there is usually no damage. In fact, I have broken only one prop in 70 flights and had only minor rudder damage once when it flipped on a landing. I have since reinforced the tail. I am still flying on my old rotor system from my last prototype (built over 8 years ago !!). The stub foam wing is starting to get ate up by the fuel, so it won't be long before I build another "rotor support". I hope to join a local club soon, so I can show the locals what a gyroplane is all about. My current flying field is just across the street !!! How sweet it is !!! I hope summer finds all of you happily whirling your wings and showing your stuff !!! Good luck to all out there, and keep up the good work !!!! Charlie Anderson
