Hi all,
I fly RC heliz (couple years now) and believe it or not, I have never heard of or seen an "Autogyro" before. Looks cool. Can a person buy kits for these? Are they expensive? Do they hold up in a crash OK? Where could I buy one if I wanted one?
Thanks,
Lane

Hi Lane,
I bought a PT 15 profile from www.aerobalsa.com and the thing is incredibly durable. With respect to durablity, I rank it up there with the LMH helicopters. I've run the thing straight into a tree, heard a loud "whack!" sound, and watched it fall 30'; no damage! I couldn't believe it, I started it back up and took off within 5 minutes. The best way I can describe flying a gyro is like flying an airplane on the backside of the power curve for the entire flight. power = altitude, pitch = airspeed, turning is very similiar to flying a helicopter. There is a lot more crap and wind drift however.
Good Luck, and try one, it's worth it!
