Could someone please tell me the proper position of the futaba 401. Should the cables face forwards or to the rear. Lost the instructions and can not remember the positioning. Thanks

I just finished setting up my 401. The directions stink to someone who is fairly new at owning an "upper-end" gyro (like me).

You can download the instructions from Futaba's website free of charge. Or, if you are more specific I will help you as much as i can.

As far as orientation of the gyro and mounting it on the heli I do not think it matters which end the cables face. What matters most is that the pot switches are facing UP.

Is that what you meant?

does not matter which way the wires are positioned . but the gyro does have to be turned on in heading hold to work properly.
good luck

The 401 does not have to be in Heading Hold mode to function properly. It works very well in Normal mode...but it does, however, have to be turned on.
