Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
When I try to charge a nimh or nicad battery the main screen shows that I have only 0.12v going to the battery. The nimh is 2500mah charged at 2.5 amh and the nicad is 700mah charged at 0.7 amh.
Am I doing something wrong in the set up??? It does not matter if the charging is manual or on auto the 0.12v never seems to change..
Any help or ideas.
Also I cannot use the caliberation on either battery. Does this only work with lipo??

I have the same charger. Your photos show you are charging a NMH enelope at 2.0 amps: this is way too much and you have probably burned the battery. I use the enelpoe batteries and never charge over .5 MAH. Even 2.0 is high for the Nicad.

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
A great big thanks to all who replied to my problem. I have found out what the problem was......
I used a 'fly' lead connected with banana plugs at one end that went into the outputs on the charger, great. On the other end of this fly lead I soldered a mono female headphone jack. On my Tx and Rx charging leads I soldered a male mono plug. The thinking behind this was pull either out a quick chage over and charge the other.
The only thing I can think was wrong was the headphone plugs caused alot of resistance in the circuit, so much in fact that it completely mucked up the Accucell.
Took the plug and female socket out of the circuit and HEY PRESTO
EVERYTHING BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will even caliberate now
It just shows what happens when you are trying to make life easy.
THANKS AGAIN ONE AND ALL

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
hi all
i'm using also the acucell6 but i dont understand why when trying to charge/balance a 2S Lipo i see the voltage of just 1S instead of 2S. im pluging the balcace cable and etc... but still it doesn't show the volatge of the two cell such as: 4.2 4.2
any idea?
thanks!

Not sure what you are seeing. By default it shows pack voltage. You push , cant remember either the inc or dec button to show all the cell voltages.

thanks guys
but as i know, im using all the correct wiring and plugs... here are 2 pictures of my setting.
note that in the Volatage/Cell view, you will see just the volatage of one cell whereas in the general view you can see the 2s config...this is exactelly what i dont understand!??

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
My next best guess is of course that you hav an open circuit in cell 2's balance connection. You might figure out if it's the charger's or the battery's by probing cell 2's pins with a dvm. If the battery shows good voltage ion cell 2 then perhaps it is the chargers fault. Beyond that you may use a wire, adapter , and a board on the 6s plug thus getting rid of the 2s plug itself. I hoe you know what I mean.

tnx guver,
to be honest i dont understand what you meant for the first part, as for the 6S adapter i will give it a try.
i'll update soon.

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
Here's an explanation on probing the cells for voltage. Looking at the battery's balance plug it has 3 wires.
The first two pins (call them left and center) are cell #1 and can be probed for voltage. From the other side , the other two pins (lets call them center and right) are cell #2 and can be probed for voltage. It may be that one of the outer wire is broken and you might get 0 volts on one of the sets of pins. That's all your charger is doing anyways when you try to read individual cell's voltages.
This might even help. http://www.scriptasylum.com/rc_speed/lipo.html

thanks guver for the link i will use it , but i'm still not convince that your theory is correct, because:
1. ALL my 2s Lipo has the same issue, i dont belive that all my lipo's wires are broken...
2. if you are right, then why in the charging sceen you can see 8.4 volt - meaning that the charger indeed "see" the correct number of cells, am i right?

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
I think the problem is with one of the pins on the balance port of the charger that could be loose and not making contact.
I've run through my charger and even if you selected the wrong charge voltage, it will give an over voltage message and warning sound.
DO you have the same problem with 3S packs?
BTW your balance ports are different to my Accucell 6 so they made some changes. Thanks for posting the pic

RE: Turnigy Accucell 6 Voltage Problem
Maybe you can use the 7 pin slot with a board then. If the trouble is after they split then you'd be good to go. If the trouble was before the 6s and 2s ports split then it would also have the trouble. I understand that you are getting 8.4 volts , but I THINK that is picking the voltage from the main lead for that total reading. Not 100% sure.
