Charger
cchs1964:
The picture shows a trickle charge, but will give you the info that is in the instructions in regards to this: Quote..
# 13:
When in the fast charge/discharge cycle is complete, the unit will beep once and the word "stop" will blink on the screen. At this time, you can scroll through the displays to check the finishing valves mentioned about such as time (min) and the capacity (mAH). If in the charge mode,a 50-minute 50~80 mA trickle charge will begin. After the trickle cycle, the charger will automatically go into sleep mode. Press the stop-start button to reset the charger.
This is the best I can do to answer your question..............

want to get a 969 superbrain pro
Jimmy,
Thanks for the info...the ad did not reference anything to trickle charging.
I am going to order one through Road Rage Hobbies...$91.50, free shipping in USA.
Thanks again...

I got mine in today. So far it seems pretty good. I discharged a few packs and charged some more.
The few things I really don't care for are...
1. On channel A is a set of bannana plugs - good. On channel B is a male TAM connector - bad. I cut it off but it was still a pain and it's almost impossible to find female bannana inline connectors (not post type) to fit the other 4 adapters I have that are male bannna plugs (that I don't want to change because they also fit other chargers and channel A).
2. There's no way to store pre-sets at all. Every time you charge a batter you have to go thru the menu and change things like peak sensitivy in mV EVERY TIME - as it's always too low for a NiCAD charge.
Other than that it's seems to be pretty good. I charged a 600 mAh receiver pack at 1200 mAh rate on channel A and a 2000 mAh pack at 4amps at the same time off my 12volt field batter and it worked fine.
Plus it comes with a 120volt to 12volt adapter (up to 5 amps) which is nice.

Yep. I purchased one and once I looked at the owners manual, I sent it back. I didn't realize how lucky I was already owning a GP Triton.
No memory on your settings, so every time you have to enter your preferences. the "b" output with wires, only being able to discharge on "A". And there is no "discharge-to-charge" cycle as on the triton, where I can set it to discharge knowing when I come back it will be fully charged.
Triton is the way to go -- at least between these two. I just ordered my second. I also just purchased a Hobbico quick field charger (with two outputs) so I could use it while park flying..

When choosing between the three modes to charge from, peak sensitivity, time, and capacity, how do you choose the one mode you want. e.g. If I want to use peak sensitivity do I scroll to the value on the LCD and then hit start?
