Default #S numbers on batteries....

I'll be getting into 1/10 electric TC racing. All my experience has been with nitro cars. What do the numbers mean? I know what the mah is. But I'm asking about 2S, 6S, 7S - those numbers. Thanks.

Default

The s is the ammount of cells in series, nominal voltage per cell is 3.7V, charged voltage per cell is 4.2V.
A pack that is (2Cells) 2s1p is 7.4V nominal, labeled on pack. But charged it's 8.4V
A pack that is (2Cells) 2s2p is also 7.4V and 8.4V charged. The 2p means there is two cells in parallel which adds capacity only.
3Cells 3s 11.1V nominal and 12.6V charged.
This goes on upto 12s i think is the largest single packs.
Adding cells in series adds voltage,
Adding cells in parallel adds capacity.
