Default Japanise 8.4V NiMh Batteries won't charge???

Hi All
I'm new to this forum but would like to ask a question to more experienced RC lovers :-)
I have recently purchased 2 RC brushed cars (FTX Vantage buggy and FTX Hooligan) as mentioned both brushed systems...
I had a standard 1800mah batteries but quickly realized that this would not give me the run time I was expecting so I have purchased additional 3200mah battery and this was a great choice not only I get more run time but also I get a bit more power.

I then started looking for more batteries and purchased additional 2 8.4V NIMH 3800mah batteries from ebay.
The batteries were delivered quickly but soon realized that both batteries would not take charge....

I have a standard 1amp charger and another a bit more sophisticated Absima CB-1P Charger which does a great job with my other batteries.
I have tried both chargers with the same result both batteries would only charge up to about 250mah and then cut off.
I have tried different settings on my absima charger by lowering the amps to 0.5, 1amp 2, 3 and 4...
What I have noticed was that when battery cut off after about 250mah of charge I could plug it in again and then charge it to additional 500mah then 3rd time I would do this I would get around 700mah so that would make around 1550mah after 3 charges, these batteries as mentioned are 8.4V 3800mah, my absima chargers reads well over 10v to 11v sometimes but when connecting it to my RC car it lasts for only few seconds and then power starts decreasing rapidly.... With 1550mah it should definitely be more than few seconds.....

Has anyone ever worked with these batteries and can share their experiences or maybe I'm doing something wrong????
