i was wondering, what is the difference between the Ni Cds that we use that are rechargeable and the ones we buy for regular electronics use say, duracell or whatever.
what makes them rechargeble or not? is the construction the same?
thanks,
diego

"Regular" primary (non rechargeable) batteries are not NiCds. Completely difference technology and construction. All NiCds are rechargeable.

Steve's quite right. Now there are different flavors of NiCd batteries -- all rechargeable, but some are OK for fast charging and some not.
Also, when we buy them for airplane use, we usually know how much capacity each cell has [approximately anyway], but the recargeables you can get in the grocery store or x-Mart often have the same small cell packaged in all sizes from AA to C or D, so a bigger battery has more weight and size without any more capacity... and some brands are labeled to show that but some are not.
