I am getting an E-maxx and I've heard that it's run time is short. Like 7 (while it's still fun to drive). Any responses about just electric runtimes would be helpful. I want to spend as least money as possible. Please reply!

I used to get 15 minutes using GP3300s. Now I get about 10 minutes using 1900mAh NiCD 7 cell packs.

For ther least amount of money wire the motor leads in series and you'll slow down the truck enough to increase the run-time.

With that kind of thinking, why not just save the money altogether and get a cheaper, slower truck?

The point of the E-Maxx is massive torque and massive power, with pretty good run times.

iN THE QUESTION e-maxx was part of the criteria along with spending the least amount of money. So although a slower cheaper truck (if there is one to compare) may increase run-time . I try to just answer his question as best as I can and not try to think for other people.

ps I agree with you about the e-maxx, I run mine as hard as I can almost all the time. Some people may do crawling or what ever though. I typically use 3300's in 6 minutes.

Here is another idea to increase runtime for no money, but it would take lots of labor. Try to liten the truck as much as you dare.

The best way to increse the runtime, for free, is to run on asphault. I too get about 6 minutes on grass and dirt...but over 15 on asphault, full throttle runs, wheelies, jumps, etc.

It would also be nice if you could give me some good things about your E-maxx (since i want to get one). IS the acceleration good, does it go fast, does it have good quick turning, is it good for jumping? If it's not too much, (I won't be offended if you don't want to answer) could you give a lot of details. You know, I don't want to get the E-maxx and be discouraged. I've never seen one being driven.

I've had mine for a couple years, and definnetly worth it. I use only 1 set of batts in the e-maxx.

Asphalt will definetly give longest run-time along with 3600 or 3300 batts (if you haven't got 'em yet)

With 6 cells per pack, the E-Maxx is very quick and very fast. A blip of the throttle in first gear will flip the truck over backwards. It will climb anything and jump 10 feet in the air off of a skateboard ramp (and usually survive unharmed).

With 7 cells per pack, it becomes insanely fast (just over 30mph) with ridiculous acceleration.

However, the E-Maxx can destroy battery packs very easily. To avoid doing this, when you notice that your E-Maxx starts to slow down significantly, stop using it at once.

With 8 cells per pack it becomes fasterer yet.
