How many chargers do you have?/Whats your favorite?
Just curious to see what everyone has for chargers(how many?) and what is your favorite?
I have (to many)
Sirius Charge Pro Series Plus
Sirius Charge Limited Edition
Sirius Charge Quad
Alpha 4
Accu-Cycle Elite
Hughes Charge + model 1C4S pocket glow start charger( this is great for glow drivers)
Favorite field charger/on the way to field charger is : Sirius Charge Pro Series Plus(Quad charger if taking more then 1 plane to field)
Favorite home charger is : Alpha 4
Its hard to name favorites they all have there +'s and -'s.
The least used charger is the Sirius Charge Limited Edition. Do believe I will be selling this 1 because of lack of use.
I would like to try Schulze charger and Hughes RC Charge + down the road.
So what do you all have.

RE: How many chargers do you have?/Whats your favorite?
I have every intellipeak made and every piranha made.
I have a 969 and 959 mrc and a bunch of timer chargers too.
I have the peak 400 and triton by great planes.
I also have had all the hobbico accucycles and mkII.
Here are my favorites in order.
Triton
Digital Pulse
Digital Piranha
MRC 969
I use almost exclusivly sub c nimh batts , chargeing 12-16 cells at a time usually and I like looking at digital stuff and graphs.
I'm sure the ice will be one of my favs too when I get one. Too bad I'll need 2 for the e-maxx....

RE: How many chargers do you have?/Whats your favorite?
I have:
Futaba CDR-5000
Triton
Radio Shack AC/DC peak charger(my first charger)
I've also had the MRC-969.
I keep the Radio Shack because it was my first charger and because nobody else wants it. It's not a bad charger...it can charge at 4A, has a thermal probe and makes cool whinning noises.
I mostly charge GP3300 race packs...but I have every kind of RC vehicle you can think of (except a submarine...at least not yet) so I charge all kinds of batteries.
The Futaba is not a charger...it's a work of art, or a surgical tool, depending on how you look at it. It has no equal. I love it, and I wouldn't give it up for anything.
The Triton is surprisingly good. When I bought my Futaba, a guy at the store offered to trade it for my 969, which I no longer needed. The Triton was sort of the unwanted stepson in that regard. I have no Lithium batteries, nor do I want any until they stop blowing up, so right now it serves as a back up charger when big Futaba is busy. It's come in handy, and most importantly, I trust it. That's saying a lot.

I believe the best charger for li-po's is no charger at all, it is a good digital adjustable current and voltage power supply.
\
You could concievably charge many series and parallel packs with a 30 volt 20 amp supply. I just think it would be too cool to stare at the display for hours.....ok 1 hour

On the bench for charging:
6ea Ace DMVC's
4ea Ace DDVC's
2ea Apache 2500's (lipo only)
On the bench for cycling/diagnostics:
6ea old Digipace 1's (dusty but still trusty)
6ea H9 Digital Dischargers
1ea Alpha 4
2ea Tritons
2ea CBA's
a pile of DVM's & several 'load boxes' based on Red's classic design.
(note: with the lights off in the shop, all the LED's make the room look like a sci-fi movie)
In the field box for Giant Scale:
2ea Hobbico MKII's
Loadmaster & a couple of DVM's
& if I'm gonna fly the big electrics then the Tritions come off the bench.
--------------
....and I'm still collecting.
ROFL!! Mike is just put off by the pyrotechnics associated with trying to charge a Lipo at better than 1C... anything that takes an hour to charge can't be of much use on a racetrack. If we ever get him behind the sticks of a lipo powered pylon racer in a 5 plane heat he may yet come around to the 'dark side'.
Cheers!

WHY do you have an Alpha 4, 8 Tritons, five Accucycles????

In order of prefernce and use
2 Alpha 4's used weekly for 5 years now and you will have to pry them out of my cold, dead hands!
1 Hughes+ - completely auto for large nimh, four ports 1 amp each
fma einstein - field only and I don't like the user interface at all

RE: How many chargers do you have?/Whats your favorite?
I sometimes charge e-maxx, twin detonater, a boat, evst and evbx and stampede at the same time.
Most all my models have dedicated batts and some are dual batts so I need lots of options.
I use 5 different power supplies depending on what I'm chargeing. My most common way to charge is to charge my 8 cell batts with a power supply that is just barely enough voltage so as the batt nears the end of charge the rate starts falling off at the end.

Easy Guver,
The guys with glow engines say, "Only a whacko would fly a 50% scale plane with a 200cc gasser.
Different toys for different boys.

I only have one "paperweight" charger, the Radio Shack, which I bought on sale for $20. I would have had two, but thankfully the 969 was taken off my hands.
