Default Problem with GP Triton?

I have a brand new Triton. The first discharge I did was with a 6 cell NiMH pack at 1A. The fan turned on immediately and ran through the discharge. Since then the fan has not turned on in any discharge cycle all done on 6 and 7 cell Nicad and NiMH packs at 1A. The housing gets quite warm. I measured at least 113F at the fans. I called the factory and they told me that "theoretically" the fan was supposed to run any time it is in a discharge mode. Any comments would be appreciated. I am a real "newbie" at this. Thanks

Yes, fan should run during discharge. Not sure if you're into opening it up, but I found one that the plug connection was not making contact and a few bad fans too.

My Triton not should be running any discharge, only when its very warm. It depends of the Tº. Sometimes the triton it´s discharging and the fan is not working, it depends Amp. discharge too.

It does depend on the temp and amps during chargeing, but it is suposed to run all the time during discharge.

it states in the manual it should run ALL the time during discharge, during single cell charges of any rate, and when the total rate exceeds 30 watts output.

My fan wouldn't run either, so I took it apart to investigate. I found that the fan rotor had been pressed too far down on the motor shaft, probably during charger assembly, and was binding. I carefully pryed it back off the shaft a little, until it spun freely, and it is working perfectly now.

I received a package from Hobby Services today with the note that they could find nothing wrong. They charged and discharged several types of packs satisfactorily. Not a word about the fan which is the problem I described. Anyway, they sent me a new one. Haven't used it yet. I gather that if I have the problem again, take the thing apart and try to fix it myself. Thanks for all the input.
