Default NiCd question

What is the maximum voltage of a fully charged 4.8v nicad? My 1200mah pac reads 5.44 volts with a 1 amp load. Is this correct voltage?

Default RE: NiCd question

The voltage will change depending on the conditions. If the pack is nearly full the charger will need a higher voltage to maintain a 1 amp charge. Also if you want a fast charge and charge at say 2 amps then you will need a higher voltage again. Having said that 5.4 Volts sounds ok to me. I have seen over 6 on some of my 4 cell packs.

This is a normal voltage for a fully charged 1200 mAh pack at the the very start of a 1 amp discharge.
