Default No Contact Problem

Hi Everyone,
I have a new 1100ma 4.8v pack from a reputable supplier. This may have been my fault,as I have had several new packs sitting on my shelf for almost a year. Last weekend I decided to form charge the four packs that were on the shelf. Two were 1650 4.8v Nimh and two were 1100ma 4.8v Nicads. All formed fine except for the one of the Nicad packs, when connected to my Ace Digipulse I got a no connection light. This was confirmed when tried on my Accucycle Elite telling me to check the battery connections, any ideas here??

Look at the pins on the connector very carfully. See any green/blue evidence? If you see it you have black wire disease - one or more cells in the pack have leaked making the wire non conductive. Remove sleeve so you can see the solder joints. Probe these with meter to see if you have any voltage there. Look at the intercell connections, any broken welds evident?

Red,
The connector looks fine. As the pack was still new it had been sitting on a shelf in my den for about a year. I thought perhaps it just discharged whatever charge was in it causing irreperable damage. I shipped it back to the manufacturer yesterday for a look see. I'll post when I have an answer.
BTW, sorry we couldn't get together and fly as we had planned while we were in Gainesville for the Gatornationals. It rained all of Wednesday and Thursday as it was, we qualified #4 in our bracket, but went out in round #3. I promise we'll get together this year in Newberry for that BBQ I owe ya!!.

To anyone interested,

Just an update as I received an e-mail from the manufacturer this afternoon. The problem was diagnosed as a intermittent bad connection at the connector. The manufacturer notified me that a new replacement pack was being shipped out this afternoon USPS Priority at No Charge.

Confirmation arrived a short time later in a separate e-mail. That my friends is service, as this pack although never used was either close to or out of warranty. Pay attention, as now I will reveal the name of the manufacturer who has always been interested in and has tried to solve my battery issues.
