Am i cheating myself if i set the peak detection on my 5 cell 2/3A micro pack to 3mV/cell? I was trying to play it safe.

If your pack doesn't peak prematurely you're fine. It won't do any damage, but in my opinion you're not really being any safer. The best thing to do if you want longer life from your packs is to charge them at C/10 or at least always below 1C for a fast charge with .5C being preferable.
