BTW, anyone have a good source for banana plugs to make cables with? For some reason they seem to be hard to find, and tend to be more pricey than I'd prefer.

John,
Maybe a little off thread but can you recommend a digital multimeter?
I'm looking for a "hobbyist" type.
Maybe $50 or so but with high enough ranges for mah/ampere measurements for the new electric stuff everyone is getting in to.
Something that would be able to measurement the levels being talked about here.
Thanks!

jlkonn,
Actually for a hobby meter this one is pretty good. It has an analog scale at the top so you can view trends like voltage moving up and down. Radio Shack $30.00 [link=http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103176&cp=2032058.2032235.2032305&parentPage=family]here[/link]

I usually by Flukes. They are expensive but it is how I make my living. For a hobby use I don't believe you need the accuracy or ruggedness or the 2 to 300 price tag.

I have a power supply, and it has a large connector with several pins, and this large connector plugs into the mother board. Well, in order to get this thing to work outside a PC, I have to connect two of the wires, but does anyone know which two? When I plug it in and turn it on, the lights dim, but I don't get power...

Hi,

Go to the following site and read through, it covers the conversions for different PC power supplies. Hope this helps.
