Default Accu-Cycle

Does the regular old [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL357&P=7]Hobbico Accu-Cycle Tx/Rx Battery Cycler[/link] peak charge? If I am just charging NiMhs and NiCds does a peak charge really matter?

Thanks for your help,

Jack

Hi Jack, no the older accucycle does not peak charge. It is based on a fixed time charging of 14 or 15 hours. The newer Accucycle Elite is a peak charger.

Is it worth the extra 60 bucks or so?

Hi Jack, I would say it is worth it, given the flexibility and features it offers over the older model. The older accucycle has fixed charging current selection up 125mA which is too low for higher capacity batteries widely used today. It is also not accurate in the discharge current setting, and needs to be re-calibrated by the user.
