Power supply- question,
I need a power supply for my DC only battery charger.
I realize that power supplies are cheap and plenty to choose from.
What I like to find out if I could utilize any of the half dozen -computer power supplies- that I already have sitting stored away?
all of those PS have 12 V output , and I would imagine it has to be regulated (ripple free) for computer use
they range from 300- 500 Watt in output.
can it be used to power my new DC (input) battery charger?
thank you

RE: Power supply- question,
2 things to look out for are low output voltage (below 12) and low power (sometimes only half of what is listed)
Those two things together give some chargers fits especially those with an 8 cell limit chargeing 7-8 cells , but some chargers will run fine. It will depend on the max load as well.

RE: Power supply- question,
The link to the TIPS page is hot -- it is tied to TIPS, and not the word NEW. [link=http://web2.murraystate.edu/andy.batts/ps/TheFIX_java_table.htm] Here is a direct link [/link] into the page.
