Charging

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out the highest amperage I can charge my packs at. Would a good rule of thumb be any rate is ok so long as the pack doesn't get hot?

Well, I have multiple packs I use for various sutff. The one I have in mind is an 8 cell nimh AAA pack.
