Default ADDING 1 cell to 7 cell NIMH Pack - HELP!

I got a deal on some 7 and 4 cell packs - the cells are all the same - I want to put one more cell on the 7 pack (pictured below) - is this easy to do? How would I wire it in? Yes I know how to solder and have a very good Haco soldering station - any help and advice would be appreciated!!

Default RE: ADDING 1 cell to 7 cell NIMH Pack - HELP!

remove the + lead and add the extra cell in series attaching the + lead to the + of the new cell, this will add the cell to the squared end of the pack making the pack a uniform diamond type shape when you're finished. keep heat duration to a minimum on the cells. a soldering station in most cases isn't the best tool for the job, you need enough wattage at the tip (and a large enough tip) to heat the tab to the point it will melt the solder and secure the tab to the batt as quickly as possible to minimize heat transfer to the cell.
