Default 6V question

I recently purchased a new engine with a 6V ignition battery pack. The inclosed instructions said to regulate the 6V to about 5.3V.

I've seen discussions referring to regulators, but have not the slightest idea where to purchase. I've not yet seen this specific item advertised. Or is disguised? Or do I just use a zener diode? Seems like this is a waste of battery capacity being converted to heat. I probably should just get a 4.8V pack, but an inquiring mind wants to know.

Thanks,
Roger

Default 6V question

Can't see much need in running an ignition system on 6v vs 4.8v, unless the ign specifies it. Several firms market voltage regulators, Maxx Products, and Cermark are but a few.

Default NEW Engine

Can the Hobby Shop or manufacturer that sold you the engine be of any assistance?

Default Regulator

I would put the 6V pack with no regulator on my receiver and buy a 4.8 V pack for the ignition.

Default 6V question

Vince,
Thought it might provide a hotter spark.
Looking at the prices from the sources you provided, looks like I can just purchase an 1100mah 4.8 pack for about the same price. I think I'll do that. Fewer connections to have problems with.
Thanks,
