Default litco multi cycler- any good?

Hi I just bought an old Litco multi cycler from a guy and wondered if anybody out there knows if these are any good? This one is gauranteed to be working, but I only paid 16 dollars for it, so I wonder if it can possibly cycle batteries accurately? I want it to cycle my speed 400 flight packs - 7 and 8 cell 600mha nicads. Anybody know if it would do this? I would have bought a Triton or an alpha 4 if I could afford it - right now a cheap but reliable cycler would be "good enough" - so please don't just say buy an alpha 4 - I will, when I can get the money together!
thanks for your replies!

Default I have a multicycle

Ive had it for years.........still works perfectly.........Ive compared it to several of the latest chargers......and its very accurate. I dont think they are to be used with nimh packs. Mine charges at 25\50\100 milliamps. It comes with three sets of wires. The bottom line its a very good charger\cycler. I paid 75 dollars for mine 18 years ago. Its been used very little........but does the job. You can plug in your pack and cycle them or just charge.
It will tell when they are charged.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Default One other thing

I dont recall that the Litco Multicycle will charge 7 cell packs. It will charge 4 and 8 cell packs perfectly.
Also after you cycle or charge a pack it goes to a 20 milliamp trickle charge.
You could try a 7 cell and see how it does.

Hope that helps.

I don't have the instructions but I'd like to get them too - if you find them please reply - would be nice to get them, but this seems like a forgotten machine.

Default Instructions..

I'm not sure if I have the instructions right where I can get my hands on them but..

Plug it in an hook your charged battery pack up. Press the Red Button to start the discharge. The Charge light should go out.

Let it discharge until the light comes back on. Then press the Red Button again. The Time in the Readout will be the discharge time+ 1 Hour.

This is a bit confusing that they add an hour on, but you have to take off one hour, then use 200 mah as the discharge.

So if your readout said 3:45, it would actually be 2:45 of discharge. At 200 ma/hr this would be 550 ma capacity.

You have to unplug the battery pack and the unit for just a second to clear the readout.

Seems like the color codes for the charge rates are on the front panel.
