I'm using an Accucycle elite. packs are 4 cell Nicd (in the plane) and 8 cell Nicd (in the TX). instructions with the charger say that i can't use the memory function to charge 2 different configurations of battery at the same time. it says that you have to manually configure one of the charge outputs. so here is the question if i have been using the following procedure have I been incorrectly charging one or both batteries? here is what i have been doing:
select output #1. assign program (we will say program #1 just for argument sake) for 4 cell pack to output #1. start charge on that pack. select output #2. change the program that is flashing (the one i used for the first pack) to the appropriate program for pack 2, the 8 cell pack (we will call this program #2 again just for argument sake) Start charge on output #2. results seem to be right in the end. both packs charge to correct voltage. unfortunately, I can't look at which program is running on each output while it is charging to verify if it is correct. it does tell me charging current and capacity of the pack. but that does not tell me what voltage the charger is trying to charge that particular pack to.
so have i been either undercharging or overcharging one of the packs? if I select the 4 cell program and try to charge the 8 cell pack on this setting it alarms and tells me the voltage is already too high (I know this because not paying attention I did it accidentally). but if it were reversed, would it cook the 4 cell pack on the setting for the 8 cell pack. Or is the procedure i have been using correct?
hope i made this clear enough. thanks for the advice ahead of time.
