Default Cell Identification ???

I have a four cell AA sized pack that holds approximately 1250mah when cycled down to .9v per cell. The cells are dark green and are marked "Japan" and "FDH" Other than that, there are no other markings. Can anyone tell me the manufacturer and rated capacity of these cells?

Thanks
Jim

Green usually indicates Ni-Mh. 1250 mAh sounds about right for older deign Ni-Mh.

Thanks for the info Red.

Is there any source that you know of that might help me identify the rated capacity of the pack more specifically?

Based on your advice, I discard my packs when that no longer hold at least 80% of rated capacity.

I originally asked the question about identifying this pack because I don't know if the 1250mah that this pack will hold exceeds the 80% of rated capacity threshold.

Thanks again
Jim

There are many characteristics of various manufacturers cell designs that can be used to identify them. If you have a cell from a known manufacturer, compare it with the ones you have, cover design, button shape, negative end of cell, the crimp on the positive end etc. Of course this is impossible if you can't take off the heat shrink.
