Running in parallel?

Dumb question, but here it goes. I want to run two 6 volts in parallel for my receiver (for redundancy). How do you make this happen with the servo connectors being the only output on the battery. Thanx

i just don't understand what you say (the servo connectors being the only output on battery)? first of all are you glow, gas, Electric. Maybe I know less than you but all my batteries for glow or gas have a connector that goes to switch harness from battery.From switch connector goes to RX. Those for electric have connector that goes to ESC.. Servos have connectors that go to RX. Please clarify?

He means that he wants to run two sets of batteries (guessing on a nitro) so that if one set ever drops too low in voltage the other set will pick up and he will retain control.
To the OP, why even bother with a switch? Just run the two sets in parallel and they will last twice as long, same thing as have a redundent pack.

Most people using two batteries use two switches as well. Just plug the output of the second switch into any unused servo slot on the receiver. If no spare slots, Y into one of the other channels. The reason for two switches is for more reliability and being able to charge each battery separately (most switch assemblies also have the charge jack or lead). If not two switches you would have to remove the battery(s) from the fuse to charge as you can not properly and reliably charge either NiMh nor NiCad in parallel. This also lets you check each battery between flights, just check with first one switch off, then the second switch off. Both conditions should give you proper operations. Now switch both on and fly
