Backlight Upgrade Kit
Are the backlight upgrade kits any good?
I was thinking about one for my Triton. The cost seems to be high, and there seems to be a possibility of a noise problem.

RE: Backlight Upgrade Kit
Well that figures...after 2 days, not one reply.
That kind of says it all. I guess no one is really interested in this upgrade. Like I said, about all I have heard of these, is bad.

RE: Backlight Upgrade Kit
OldRookie,
I have a Triton2 charger and am happy with it.
My first question is "Why?"
Granted the dispaly isn't great but it is readible if there is a light on.
The add says "Professional installation recommended."
That adds to the cost if you are not a professional.
When you open the unit and add things you void the warranty, if there is any left.
If a problem develops then you don't know if the unit has a problem,
the upgrade has a problem or the upgrade is causing a problem.
If this were offered by Great Planes I might have a higher opinion.
I don't think the upgrade is is worth the money or the possible hassle.
But, that's just my opinion and we all know about opinions.
Good Luck,
