Quick Question

I just got rechargeable batteries for my nitro truck, but the guys at my LHS gave me a Ni-Cd charger that charges both the RX and TX at the same time but they also gave me NiMH batteries for the RX and TX. Does it matter that it says it charges NiCds? Thanks.

RE: Quick Question

That charger is pretty low current. I hope neither of your battery packs are over 1000mAh and even at that it will take 20hours to charge your batteries. What is the mAh rating on your batteries?

RE: Quick Question

2400 and 2650. A calculator I used said it will take over 48 hours. But will the charger damage the cells by over charging or something?

RE: Quick Question

No that charger will not actually charge the batteries. You should charge the batteries at a C/10 (C/20 at the slowest) to slow charge the packs. This means that the charger should output ~250mA to charge each of the packs. Right now you are trying to charge at a C/48.
