Default great planes cub engine size

I'm thinking about putting floats on my cub, 82 inch wing span. I have a super tigre 90 looking for a air frame. I'm thinking of using this engine. I know it's alot of engine for this plane. But think it will be ok. What say ye all?

Way more than it needs, but you could use it. What's in it now?

Nothing at the moment. I got it from a guy at the field that is getting out of the hobby, only paid 25.00 for it. For that price I just had buy it. Been wokring too much and flying way too little. About all I've had time to do is fly the night vapor at night. It's a blast, but need to get the other planes up.

That is a little too much considering you're at sea level. I fly mine on an OS .91 four stroke and that's more than enough up here at 5500 ft. elevation. However, if you are really careful about throttle management you will be ok. I say really careful because I had a friend of mine split a wing in half on that same plane coming out of a loop using an OS .75 two stroke. That's not to say there couldn't have been a flaw in the wing joiner but be a little careful. Just fly her like a Cub on floats and save the outside snap rolls for your favorite pattern plane

Enjoy your float Cub!

Personally, I think a 70 4-stroke is the perfect engine. I'm starting to build a Goldberg Cub right now and it will be getting a 70 surpass
