Was on the Tower website seeing something else when I saw that they have listed a new engine from OS - 65AX. Its is on the same lines as the 61FX and will probably replace it. Weighs about the same and produces the same power at the same RPM. Is more expensive than the 61FX but $10 lower than the 75AX. What do you guys think?

Thats what I thought as well. Not that I need an engine right now- I have a 72A, FS91SII and a 75AX spare.
Talking of the 75AX, I had issues with keeping it running with the tank installed a couple of inches above the carb spray bar with the engne inverted. It would erratically deadstick and never tune properly. Later when I installed a FS91SII on the same model, I lowered the tank. Flew it for only one Sunday since having done that and with the new engine with no issues. Do you think this could be a tank height problem? I need to know as I was planning to replace the piston-liner otherwise. My mentor ran this engine on the test stand in the interim and reported it runs OK

The pricing right now is pointed at the guys who gotta be the first to have the newest stuff.
Give them a few months, and the price will be around where the FX is now.

Interesting that they list the new AX as 17.5 ounces compared to the FX at 19.4. That's almost 2 ounces lighter for the new engine.
They do list the weights with muffler as 23 versus 23.6. Could be an error somewhere, or the AX muffler is 1.3oz heavier than the old one. If that's the case, and you have an old muffler, you got a way to juggle some weight up front.

The OS 61FX, the OS 75AX, the OS 91FX, the OS 95 AX, and now the OS 65AX are all about the same
weight and will work on the same planes. You pays your money and take your chances. I had 91FX's
and 95AX's on H9 Twist 60's and they seemed to run cold at partial throttle and 15% nitro. I upped the
nitro to 20% and they straightened out. Changing glo plugs did not make much difference although
some plugs were better than others. The engines were not cowled.

Wow, that seems like a lot of muffler. I like the concept though.
