smoke pumps

You actually don't need a pump.
What you will need to get good smoke is an engine that puts out hot exhaust. Glow engines aren't really good at that but if you routed the smoke plumbing in or around the muffler can do an acceptable job. That is, if the glow engine is a larger one.
Almost every smoke setup I've seen was driven by muffler pressure. The ones that worked best were on gasoline engines or big glow engines and had plumbing that either went into the muffler or was wrapped around it.
What engine do you plan to use?

Thats pretty pricey for only 5 cartidges. You can buy the windshild washer pump for about 20 bucks and make your own smoke fluid or buy it by the gallon. There are a lot of threads debating this subject

so with heating the oil, if i get brass tubing and wrap it around the head of the motor a couple of times, this is essentially going to heat it up before reaching the port i tap into the muffler. are there any adverse cooling reactions on the engine head from the brass tubing being wrapped around it? there would still be the heat sink fins on the top of the motor for cooling the head. uuuumm... i have an O.S. .40 FX that i will be using, with a bisson pitts muffler. with throttle setting being the variable for amount of time in the air flying, would i really need a 10 oz. tank (for the smokeoil)to get a few minutes of smoke time, or would a 4 or 6 oz. tank be enough? the inside of the SMP is kind of tight.
