Welcome to the best hobby ever! I started at about your age, and the PT40 was the 1st kit I built. I do not remember which engine I used, think it might have been a K&B .40. It is an easy kit to build and you should enjoy it. Take your time and you will be fine. We are here to help. Its good to see another modeler interested in building kits. That is my favorite part of the hobby.

jsngnn22,

I started two years ago at 62. Now I have 5 glow planes and 2 electrics. Take your time and ask questions here. Each new plane will get easier. The only limit to this hobby is money. LOL. I am currently building a plane from scratch. Just using the plans, and am enjoying the heck out of it.

Good luck on your build

Tom

I'm just starting at 72 and having a ball. I have 2 planes and building one of my own design. I'm a retired engineer and appreciate the great equipment and quality I find available now to the novice right up to pro levels.

I have not done a solo flight yet as weather came early this season, it's clear, windy, and 26F outside right now with more rain expected. I can hardly wait as I sit here on my simulater getting lotsof training experiance.

I look forward to many years of flying these birds. Thanks for all that everybody has done to get it to this level.
