Just finished my first ever build and first ever cover. Not perfect by any means, but i'm happy with it. The PT-40 was a great first build, got the OS .46 broken in, now just waiting on the weather to cooperate so I can maiden it. Just wanted to show it off and get some opinions. I do still need to add the cockpit windows, but Iwas eager to show it off. Thanks for looking. Oh, and I promise it's my camera, my pinstriping is not really that jagged, lol, if you click show actual size, it's more clear for some reason.

jsngnn22,
what I want you to do stick your right hand straight up towards the ceiling, bend at the elbow and place your hand behind your head, and give yourself a big pat on the back!!!!!!!
That's a fine looking plane you have there, you have a lot to be proud of. It looks great!!!
Good job!!!
Make sure you give us an update on your maiden and how she flies!!!!

Great job! One suggestion if I may, add some bright colored markings on the bottom of the wing, It will help with orientation when it's in the air. It can get pretty hard to tell which way it's going and whether it's right side up or inverted when it gets out a bit.
Nice build, please let us know how it flies.

Really nice job.....something to be proud of. The PT-40 was my first kit, many years ago and not only did I learn to fly and solo on her, but was actually able to compete in the club fun-fly that year.
Enjoy her and best of luck on the maiden flite!

Great job on that covering. I just finished mine:same plane, same engine.
I was advised to keep the covering simple so I have it all yellow with a dark blue bottom and wing tips.
Thisway, it's easy to see theplaneposition when flying.

Wow!!! What can you say that hasn't already be said.........awesome job......even if it wasn't your first which it was. Stay with building and you'll be happy you did.......we're losing builders and you would be a much needed addition to the fold.
Again........not enough good things can be said on your "maiden build"
Cheers,
Andy

Yea It is the balancer from Great Planes. I really like it, I didn't think i needed one until i watched one of our club members balance his plane with his fingers, then proceed to be way too tail heavy, which resulted in a spectacular crash. I instantly ran out and got me one after that, and have been happy with it so far.
@Missleman... Yea i didn't catch that at first, but I have since rotated up to the top, and sealed the exposed wood around the valve. Much better now,

Very NICE! I am glad to see another builder come into the hobby, rather then an assembler of ARFS! I try to get all of my students to build at least one plane after they solo, if they learned on an ARF. This way they know how to fix them, when gravity wins.
