My bad...been reading too much on RCU today.
I thought the OP already had a Spektrum DX? I re-read the OP post and dont think he/she has any TX. Soooooooo, I guess it depends on what they end up with. Or they could always use a MS game controller. ???
PS...There are a few USB controllers on the market just for SIMs too. I seen somewhere a while back where someone was making a 6 channel one. Looked nice. Face of it was all gold. Think it was about 30 or 40 bucks though.

I made mistake earlier referring to using a TX as a controller. I use the name interchangably I have a controller that is strictly for simulaters and although it's made on the body of a transmitter and has all the control capability for 6 channels it's not a transmitter since it does not have the radio equipment in it and can only plug into a computer for use as a simulator, thus it's a controller, not a Xmitter. Thats why I refer to simulators needs as using a controller which is what an xmitter used with a simulater becomes.

To be honest...Id rather have just a "controller" for my sim rather than using a real TX (long as it is a gimble type RC controller and not a game system type of one).
I get all out of sorts when Im using the SIM and forgot to charge the TX batt...and it goes dead just when Im getting into it! LOL
I could really care less if I use my "actual" TX on the SIM. One with gimbals that feel close is good enough.

My simulator controller came with the FSM simulator package included with a plane I got from Banana Hobby, Most places carry FSM simulator packages. I would look at the supplier you usually deal with and find the FSM simulator kits. These are the cheapest but the control is great for simulator use and works great with my Clear View program also or most others... No help in my ability to crash that I'm good at but other than this it is great. Be sure it's 6 channels as you never can predict when you may need all of them. Above that I would use the TX.
