Default Specktrum Receivers

Well, over the past week everyone out here has giving direction on Balsarite vs. Trim Solvent Now the repair is moving forward.

Iwas poking around in the plane and Inotice the reciever was a Spektrum AR6200. IS that normally used in a nitro biplane with a Saito 15o 4 stroke. One of the guys in the club said that is more for a park flier. Is this correct?

thanks

That is not correct. The AR 6200 is a full range receiver.

The AR6200 DSM2 6-channel receiver is a great solution for all model aircraft requiring full range up to six channels.

+1 on that ...... I have actually used, and will continue to use an AR6200 in both my .50 sized nitro heli, and my .60 sized nitro plane as it IS a full range receiver, and they have both performed perfectly - just ensure that both receivers signal lights are not flashing when you power it up, and that way you'll know you have a good solid and usable signal between both TX & RX. If your worried re vibration from a bigger motor, just insulate it with some medium density foam that is designed for situations where vibration needs reducing (both of my models are set up that way).

It is indeed a 'full range' receiver, and is perfectly happy in nitro aircraft. Just run it on at least a 6volt battery pack (5 cell nimh 'AA's for example) or regulated 7.2 volt + lipo (etc) system, as Specktrum receivers can get temperamental and brown out if on a 4.8volt pack, and it voltage get's too low in it's available charge.

You'll be fine. I've got one in an Ultimate bipe gasser and haven't any issues with it. All my nitro planes fly with the 6200. It is a full range rx.

Yep. I got two 6200s and they work fine in full range. The guy at your field is mistaken.

The AR6200 with is a full range receiver. I have three of the receivers and had no problems in my .60 size warbirds to a 1/4 scale Cub. If the satellite receiver is removed it might be confused as a park flier.
