Wandering if an old ENYA 45 Model 6001 [with 2 needle valves] will adequately power a LT-40. New to hobby- thanks for the help.

Default Should be more than enough

How old is it and what kind of shape is it in? What you don't want in your first airplane is a point of aggravation. It can ruin your otherwise productive days at the field_Bob

It will fly the airplane if its not clapped out.The last thing you want is a fussy old worn out engine to contend with when you are trying to learn to fly as Bob points out......

Default Engine

I would say that it would be marginal at best. The LT40 is heavy for a trainer and will barely get off the ground in a tall grass field. I would suggest getting a Thunder Tiger in the 45 size range and then go have fun!

Give it a try!

I use an old fuel soaked, beat up, hobbyco/Tower/? Hybrid with an Enya 40 for training new pilots. Takes a bit more runway than i would like, but it works. The 45 will almost certainly do the job. Some of these old Steel and steel enyas will last decades so long as you keep running a little castor. If you still have a decent amount of compression, use it.
