This is my first post. I'll be building my wing up a few nights from now and need to decide which version to build.
I have searched and think I've gotten some wisdom. I guess I'm looking for confirmation.
I am a new flier. I will fly with an instructor. I intend to build my wing with ailerons. I have seen advice to build the trainer wing and advice to build the sport wing.
Can anyone with this plane advise me about the difficulty of learning to fly the PT40 with the sport wing? I'd prefer to build it this way so the plane can be a little more "sporty" later on.
Thanks for your oppinions,

MI,
I built a PT40 this past winter with a bolt on wing and the b
dihedral don't worry about not having enough dihedral it actually still has too much compared to a Lt40 the plane will still self right itself but will be less affected by the wind the b wing will make an excellant trainer and be very stable it also has ailerons, the a wing with ailerons would have been harder to fly it's really slow with the b wing mine is powered with the evolution trainer

I've built two this spring, both with the sport wing and they fly great. I had to shim the trailing edge of the wing up about 1/16" to get the incidence correct. use the rubber bands and NOT the bolts. I cart wheeled mine on landing with bolts, not pretty. It split the fuselage down both sides major repair so I installed the dowels and now use rubber bands. Cart wheeled twice last week and only minor damage, repairable in less than 30 mins. Ailerons for sure. I just converted it to a tail dragger. Take offs are much quicker but requires more rudder work. I powered mine with a tower hobbies .40, I think a .46 would be better. Good luck and Good flying.
BTW the second PT-40 was my sons. He crashed it after coming out of 5 mins of inverted flight, got it straight and level then dumb thumbed it into the ground, go figure.

Thanks for the great info. It seems the consensus is the B wing.
I'll be starting to build the wing this weekend and will build that config.
Thanks again,
