Keep an eye out for the upcoming Hitec Optic 5 sport radio. It will retail for less than $100, which would be a pretty reasonable price for a buddy box plus an extra full-range receiver.

When I needed a buddy box for my Spektrum Dx6i I went to e bay and got an old used Dx5 with a broken antenna for $20. It worked fine. Remember the box flying the plane is the other one; the buddy box is a slave and can be anything cheap
