Hey everyone,
I've been on the forums for a couple years now and most recently basically disappeared. I'm not really sure where to put this post, so moderators you can put it wherever you think it fits best!
Well, to make a long story pretty short, I spent about 2 months total IN a hospital, have had two 6 hour intestinal surgeries, and had to wear a damn bag on my stomach for about 6 months.... [&o]
I had Ulcerative Colitis as some of you also know, and had struggled for a few years with it. I would be violently sick for 2 months or so at a time, and then it would go into remission for a few months, I'd start doing my normal things in life and then I'd be steamrolled by another flare up. This went on for about 3 years and I couldn't live this way anymore.
The last time I got sick I was hospitalized and basically had emergency surgery. (Graphic) The surgery I had removes the diseased part of my intestines and pulled the end of what was left through my abdomen and I had to wear a bag on my stomach until the next surgery. This surgery was about 5.5 hours start to finish and I dropped down to 118 pounds (I'm 6 feet tall) at the time of leaving the hospital. [X(]
6 months went by with this ridiculous thing on my stomach, started going back to work about 3 months after surgery, and then scheduled my 2nd surgery which would reconnect everything and get rid of the bag. Now, I COULD have lived with the bag the rest of my life as the next surgery has quite a bit of a chance of complications, but I couldn't live with it as I'm a 21 year old VERY active person and I have one of the top surgeons in the country and I had faith that everything would go well.
I just had the 2nd surgery a month and a half ago. This surgery was 6 and a half hours long and the surgeon said it went textbook! I'm now 6 weeks out and I'm doing great, I have been back at work for 3 weeks, and actually just 2 weeks ago bought my dream car! 2003 SVT Cobra [>:] . I'll attach some pictures.
Now on to the airplanes! I'm VERY ready to finally get back to the flying field and get back to doing my thing. My planes have been asleep for the past 9 months or so and I can't wait to get them back in the air. Gotta check all my batteries and get the engines cranked back up and wake them all back up! Yall post your thoughts, comments, or anything you wanna say!
Just very happy to be back and thought I'd share whats been going on.

Yeah, it's good to see you return to RCU. We'll just keep the thread here.
Glad to see the surgery went well. I understand hat this is all about.. I've recently had a bit of a bout myself. Glad you are well and coming back to RC. What's with those car pictures, though? [X(] This is an aircraft forum!!!

Welcome back, if I dont remember bad you did post something before about your surgery.
I am glad to see it went well, Chrons and UC can be bad.
Now that you are good, get those birds up in the air soon.

Better that you are Getting old rather that Being old. I've been Getting old since I was born, one of these days I'm afraid I'm going to wake up and Be old.

I said it before ( I think ) and I'll say it again. Your attitude and willingness to face your condition down has a lot to do with how much you've overcome at your young age!!! Well done!
