I built a LT40 a year ago and have enjoyed building and flying it all summer. I am ready to move onto my next plane and want to build a four star .60. I am thinking of getting the Futaba 6XAS radio and a tower hobbies .75 ABC BB engine. I have heard good things about the radio but nothing about the engine, I have an OS LA .40 in my Kadet and really like it. Does anyone have any experience with these tower hobbies engines? I want the most bang for my buck, or is a .75 BB overkill? Would the radio be a good choice for this model? I am also thinking about putting in a 16 Oz. tank and clipping the wings by one rib any comments on this? Thanks for any advice.

From: gone,
Build it with the stock wing... you can always clip it later. Much harder to add it on.
Generally the Tower engines I've dealt with have been good. About on a par with the O.S. FP series for thier bushing bearing engines, about par with the TT Pro series for the ball bearing ones. I haven't seen the .75 before... But I wouldn't expect problems.
Since a decent BB .61 will fly the 4*60 nicely... the .75, with the appropriate prop shouldn't have ANY trouble.
The .75 may help avoid one problem people keep running into with the 4*60... it likes to turn out tailheavy. With an O.S. .91 FS (a little lighter than a .61 2-stroke) I had to add a 1.25 oz flywheel style weight between the aluminum spinner-nut and prop. (the od of the weight exactly matched the DuBro nut. Looks good.)

Great choices!! You'll love the 4*!! I did!!
Great choice on the radio too. You'll be happy withteh new 'computer features' you'll get with this radio. Set-up is sooooooo much easier! Remeber to try the new and coupled setting at a high altitude!!
gor for eh 16oz tank. It fits just right, and you'll have that extra little time up there..

The .75 engine should be fine on the 4*. Like a previous posted stated, the 4*'s seem to come out a little tail heavy, so you can use the extra weight up front.
I just finished one about three months ago with a Sport Jett .76 engine in it. That is a hefty engine with the pipe and it balanced right on the aft CG without additional weight.
I think you will enjoy the plane very much.

With low throw settings she is a great second plane and as your confidence grows you can get it to really perform by increasing throws.
