Default Odd Fuel Pricing??

I just got my Hobby People sales notice. They have WildCat 20/20 in sale for $20.00, Power Master 15/18 for $15.00 but then they have the Hobby People 15/18 on sale for $20.00?? That just struck me as a bit odd, Hobby People fuel is usually on sale for $15.00 also?? I do like the smell of the WC and HP fuel better then PM but why would anyone buy the HP fuel for the same price as the WC 20/20?? Just a passing thought.

We get mailed a sales flier and they are in there. I went yesterday and they had a total of 6 cans of Power Master 15% in stock, the sale is stock on hand so once those are gone there isn't any more on sale, it's there come on to get you in the store. Last sale I went to look at the giant Ryan STA on sale and pick up some of the 20% they had very cheap. The one Ryan ARF on the shelf had a sign, {put on hold} so that was gone or removed from the sale. There was no 20% on the shelf. The sales guy came over to look and said they must have sold it all?? We were the first ones in the door on the first day?? They have been playing this game for years so the locals only buy fuel from them when it comes up on sale. We get there on day one as early as we can because they don't give out rain checks on there sales items. I did pick up 4 of the 6 gallons they had on hand. There will be another big sale on the 4th of July so I will pick up the rest of my summer supply. I'm holding pretty well on fuel at the moment, next sale I will try to buy a case.

it must be nice having a major hobby store locally (hobby town doesnt count) even if they use bait tactics to lure you to their store

They sell the fuel based (at least loosely) on what they paid for it. Their prices, just like everything else, are subject to change.

I really am lucky. Before i moved here I had one LHS that had nothing other then the {I can Oredr that for you} if I wanted another hobby shop I had to drive down a mountain to get to Fresno or Modesto, both close to two hours depending on traffic. I have two hobby People, one Hobby Town and one really good hobby shop, Nice twice. Three of them are a couple blocks away from each other so I often go to all three when I go to Nice Twice. They are all just off the strip and Nice even has a great girlie bar down the street. Nothing like a brass pole with a good looking young lady twirling around it, ice cold beer and the best burger in town. Nice also has most anything a modeler needs, it's often just NICE to go pick up a few modeling items.[8D]

Where were you before?.......We Have an "I'll order it for you" here and one that doesn't even carry anything for flying, only cars. The guy who orders stuff has is same day if it's on the Tower website and next day for Horizon. Usually matches or better the price online too.

We only have two choices....I'll go with the order it guy

A little town just outside Yosemite. Now I'm in a little town over looking the strip. It takes me about 20 or 25 minutes to get to the LHS depending on traffic. Or depending on what the young lady looks like that is on the brass poll!!

Why doesn't Hobby Town count? I would rather have a Horizon store than Hobby People.

The fuel is cheaper too. Regular price about five bucks lower than Hobby People's sale price.

yes the have great prices on fuel... and their patriot fuel line is some of the best fuel(wild cat) the majority of the stuff they carried was car parts , foamy stuff, parkflyers... they got rid of a nice dubro rack, with all the goodies i use on my glow and gas stuff..... unfortunately they closed down

I use all three but Hobby Town does not sell any 15% fuel for ten bucks. My next trip to the shops will be soon, I have a lot of little things to buy. First stop will be Nice Twice, then Hobby Town then Hobby People. Each store has something to offer. I do play favorites but they are all in a three block area and I have a certain route I drive to get to each one.
I just thought it was really odd that they would be having Wild Cat 15% marked the same as the Wild Cat 20/20. Who would be buying WC 15% when they can get the WC 20/20 for the same price. I'm not brand loyal but I am a slave to my pocket. When WC 15% is cheaper then the PM fuel I buy that, if they are the same price I buy the PM fuel. If I see 20/20 priced the same as 15% then I buy that. I feel like I'm giving my engines a treat and it makes me fell all fuzzy inside.

Just got home from the strip last night, and I been enjoying it for a few years. Seems like a nice place to live especially with all those hobby shops and girly bars.

I moved here for the weather, hot and dry are nice on the old bod. Everything else is just gravy. Other then the really high desert winds it's perfect for me here. There is another Hobby People on the east side of town, I go there when I am driving home from the field. There is a small shop in Boulder too but not much for plane guys there. At least not the last time I was there. Funny, I never gave the Vegas area a thought when I was younger. My cousins moved here in the 60s and loved it, I thought they were nuts.

Powermaster is $15.00, the WC 20/20 was $20.00 and I found it odd that they had the WC 15% on sale for the same price as there 20/20. Last year on the 4th of July sale they had the 15% for $13.00. Because of there come on tatics there are only a few items I ever buy at HP. They have the best deal in town on there packs of 4-40 control rod and when it's on sale I also buy there bulk servo wire. If I'm in the middle of a build and need a piece of wood or two I go there for it. Nice Twice and Hobby Town don't have a very good selection of wood. HT has the best selection of paint and dope. I have a list of items I require on my present build so as I get closer to the point I start to assemble I will take my list and do a road trip to all three hobby shops.
I only found it odd that they would price there WC 15% the same as there 20/20. Sale is over so we have time before the next one and I will finish stocking up for the summer. I try to keep as much fuel as I can on hand and only buy when it's on sale. Fuel prices have moved a lot of the guys over to gas. My new plane is a gasser and the next one is also a gasser. I will keep the glow planes I have but as fuel prices keep going up they will be left in the shop a lot more. Who knows, in the future I may be selling a lot of YS engines?
