I Cannot wait to get home from Iraq and hopefully build a plane from a kit. I used to fly a hobbico Nexstar in 2009 before she met her demise. Still dont know why she fell outa the sky, Lost lift on a turn. Nosed right into the ground [:@]. I'm thinking about something for a magnum .91 4 stroke.

lost lift in a turn.....sounds like a stall....you can stall at any speed......
when you're new to flying you have to be careful with the angle of bank.....and then if you throw in the rudder.....you're usually into uncontrolled flight before you know what happened.....if you go into a downward sprial (sprail of death) and just add elevator to try and pull out...that just makes it worse......hopefully you'll have enough altitude to stop the spin with opposite aileron or rudder before adding elevator to pull out....
Thanx for your service

There's a great flying club really close to Miramar, run by Miramar staff I believe. It's invite only[:-]
But I'm sure your son shouldn't have any problems if he asks around the base about it.
Tell 'em all Thanks as well.

You can always blame Spektrum... even though you don't have one...
I did one with an older 72 Mhz radio that I forgot to raise the antenna. Ah, well, we usually learn by our mistakes. Sometimes, we make the same mistake twice..
Yup.. you guessed it.
Sorry, Bull.. didn't mean to hijack your thread.
I was at a local Pop's concert last night. They played "Semper Fidelis". I immediately thought of you and your son.

Did someone say that Miramar was no longer NAS but MCAS now? When did that happen? Just curious.. it's been about 16 years since I was out in San Diego on an official status and visited Miramar a few times while down there.
