Default Balancing Big Stik 60

I am doing the CG on a Big Stik 60. Although I mounted my OS 75AX as far aft as possible (not the recommended distance), and placed my battery as far aft in the fuse, the plane still is nose heavy using the 4 inches from the wing edge. The manual also gives a range from 3.75 inches to 4.5 inches. At 3.75 inches, the plane balances well. Should I add weight on the back to make it balance at 4 inches, or should I ignore the range? Thanks.</p>

If you're at the front edge of the recommended CG range, then you should be fine. Go fly and have fun!

That's where mine is balanced............had to put a bit of weight at the tail section. I'm flying it with an OS91FX and have been for a couple of years and it is really an enjoyable plane to fly. Hope you enjoy yours.

cheers,
Andy

I wanted the CG toward the back of mine, so I moved the rudder and elevator Serbia to the back. It's a common mod that also gives you a more positive connection.

I just mounted a large ( 3800mAh NiMH ) battery pack onto a ply tray using velcro straps, then glued the tray as far back as possible behind the wing in the fuselage.

This brought the C.G. to the 4" mark.

The further back you can get the C.G. ( even 5" is good! ) the more aerobatic the Stik becomes.

Mine hovers and torque rolls with ease, much to the surprise of some.
