I need an engine for my Senior Telemaster. What do you use in yours or what do you recommend?

I have a Super Tigre 90 on mine. It is more than enough for leisure laps around our club field.
The STM, with its huge wing, can handle a very diverse amount of engines. It depends on what you plan to do with it. Camera platform, bomb drops, glider tug, etc can all be done with a STM. I would probably stay above a .60 2 stroke and below a 1.40 2 stroke. (I have only 2 stroke engines)

The Sr. Tele almost begs for a 4 stroke with that wonderful Little Harley sort of sound while it sails along. And a big slower swinging prop suits the airframe.

I use a Saito 90 4-stroke twin in mine. Awesome!

If all you are doing to be doing with the plane is flying it around it can be flown on as little as a 60 sized 2-stroke, or a 70 sized 4-stroke. It will fly with the 90 sized 4-strokes and have plenty of power while flying. <div>
</div><div>I am using my Senior Telemaster to ferry gliders up to altitude and launch them. I built cradles on the wings to strap the gliders to and it's a system that works extremely well. I have a Saito 100 on it and it works well for this. But I'm getting tired of the cost of glow fuel. One weekend of being the mule and carrying gliders up and launching them burned through a gallon of fuel. So I am in the process of switching the engine on the plane and I'm putting a DLE20 on it. Might be a bit of overkill but I want the extra power for the bigger gliders. I'm having to put larger landing gear on it to accommodate the larger prop with the DLE 20</div><div>

I had a very old OS .60 two stroke on mine, a lot more power then needed. Because I have a couple of OS .91 four strokes on hand so I would be using one of them today. I doesn't require a huge engine to fly one.

G'day

I flew an old Telemaster Senior on the weekend. It was given to a friend by his brother and had not flown for about 10 years. We replaced the servos and gave it a general check over. It was powered by an MDS 60 two stroke (not my favourite engine). It took off on about half power and I don't think I used full power at all during the flight. If it were mine, I would put a Saito 72 in it but it you want a bit more for towing etc then the 91 or 100 would also be fine.

I would only want to float around with it so the larger engine would not be necessary for me.

I would not put a two stroke in it as it is a quiet sort of plane and a four stroke suits it better.

Actually, I think I might put a Laser 80 or 100 four stroke in one. I have a 100 and would like an 80.
