If this is not the place for it, then by all means please locate it properly.
I was in Fort Smith Arkansas sitting in a lawn chair at 930 am, it was 60 degrees not a cloud in the sky.
Then the air raid sirens sounded.
If anyone ever has a chance to see these gentlemen live, do it.
It was an amazing experience.
* this is the actual fort smith show.*

It is a small example of the sort of things soldiers and civilians alike had to endure.
It is not celebration. It is about educating those my age and younger, but more importantly never forgetting the ultimate sacrifices made for the freedoms I enjoy.

Sorry, my words were not the best I could use.
Too much different cultures, so, different point of view, and this place is totaly the WRONG one to discuss this.
I wish I had not questioned this.

These things are done because in one european country, which suffered its own civil war, while the rest of the world was at world war....
In this country the specifically dont talk about it.. or teach it.. or explain it or anything other than sweep it under the carpet.
For this reason there is still an underlying hostility between certain groups of people young and old and various political symbolism is still legal etc etc..
Look at Germany. They teach in schools about the mistakes THEY made. They do not want their children to grow up and make the same mistakes.
This is why so many people "remember" or re-enact etc etc etc.. Its a healthy reminder of what happens when politicians get it wrong!

Amen!
At times I used to re-enact. My wifes side of the family fought in the Luftwaffe in WWII and because I'm a pilot of full sized single engine aircraft and studied combat tactics. My rank fit the part to what I was Christened from- Ute Rommel (Grand Daughter of Erwin Rommel) and Walter Schuck ( BF-109 & Me262 Fighter Ace).
Most of the uniform is original and Walter Schuck held the jacket and told me I'd better wear the uniform out of respect. I haven't washed it since and only wear the uniform at WWII re-enacments.

Still brings to mind a very important question. Why does Brazil have so many pretty women? Maybe something in the drinking water?

I would submit that these are not celebrations. They are reminders. Reminders of what can happen when we get too complacent. It is a whole lot better to be reminded in re-enactments such as an air show than it is to be reminded at places like the Alamo or Pearl Harbor or the World Trade Center. We desperatey need to remain diligent.

There is NOrespect to that question. My Father was in Pearl Harbor! This is about HONORINGthe memory of what he went through to defendhis country. People like YOU have no clue as to what it is like to be in a war. This presentation is to present a small representation of what it was like to have hundreds of Japanese planes killing your fellow sailors. War is hell and remembering that through shows like this just might help in future decisions made to PREVENTwar. God have mercy on your ignorance of the loss of all the fine people that died that dreadful day.

That was rude, it was a simple question.
Good air show, much better then what they have here as far as the flying goes. We get a couple of P-38s flown into our show, my favorite plane. They have a group of P-38 pilots every year that show up. I have a photo of a P-38 and when I go to the show I try to get all the pilots to sign the photo. These were/are men of iron and I have the photo in my shop to remind me of what these guys went through and the nerve it took to strap on a plane to go out and fight and die alone. They had a reason worth fighting for.

Marcio asked a simple and very understandable question, for good reasons. I was glad he asked it, it gave a wonderful chance to express part our culture to someone from another country. As well as my own personal feelings toward the sacrifices made to insure my generation and others are free.
I feel so very blessed to be born in the United States. Every time I meet anyone in uniform I shake their hand and tell them thank you for serving our country. That is just how I feel about things.

I never intended for anything disrespectful to anyone.
Thank You

Not going anywhere.
By the way for the high alpha guys. Skip Stewart was at the Ft. Smith air show too. I wish I could fly rc as well as this guy flies his Pitts. They blasted Crazy train over the sound system then this exact routine took place. It was fantastic.
