Just install the Saito 100 engine in the You Can Do ARF and engine want start. Attached is the pic of the engine and I'll explain how it's connected. The main gas line coming for the tank goes into the input line of a (Dubro fuel valve glow). On the output of the valve it goes into the the carburetor of the engine. The pressure side of the tank is connected to the muffler. Lastly in the back of the engine the overflow line is also connected. The problem I'm have is no fuel is going to the carburetor and even if I disconnect the line from the valve to bypass it still no fuel. Also, this is a new engine and has never ran yet. Please help...thanks

Mr cool i'd take the engine out of the plane and bench mount it first. They run so rich initially that engine vibration can be very severe, not something you would willingly subject an airframe to.Plus you can get used to running the engine and easily make adjustments, and sort your fuel system.

really need to mount it on a test stand and run it in first.
makes it easier to adjust. it will start up very rich, and it will need to be leaned out gradually.
after a tank of fuel start to lean it out. gradually. by the third tank,
it should be mounted and lean enought to fly. but some go more, and some go less
that vent line in the back should be open to atmosphere..short piece of line on it.
thats where the crankcase vents, used lubericant is expelled there.
those filler valves are known to leak sometimes. leak air.
i would suggest trying without using the filler valve, bypass it.
are you using an electric starter? if not. i would find one
it makes the whole operation easier.
if your fuel lines are connected correctly and no air/fuel leaks, it should
pull fuel just by propping it over 5 or 6 times with your finger over the muffler outlet.
my 100 started right up. when it was brand new.
no fuel coming thru the line makes me think you have an air leak.
just some ideas. All my Saitos when new where very easy to crank the first time

Pa,
The crank case vent is not connected to the tank. I have it hanging by way so it can overflow to the ground. Now when you say it should be vented overboard not sure what that is. Please explain,

Overboard means out the bottom of the cowl to the ground....sounds like you have that correct.

I have two lines coming from the tank. The are not in reverse they are connected correctly. I took the line from the exhaust and blew into it. The fuel did push to the carburetor so it's getting fuel ok.

Is your glow plug OK? A couple months back, I was starting one of my Saitos after a rebuild and it just wouldn't fire. Then I noticed I had plugged the glowplug cord into the 12V outlet on my power pannel. Brand new O.S.F plug up in smoke. Just a thought.

More then once.[&o] Plus I have helped out people with a starting problem and found the needle valve closed too. Fuel lines mixed up, Something I do quite often. Even when I mark the main line or use a colored line for the main. I tend to forget what line color or mark goes where. It's what I get for setting up a fuel tank at the start of a build. I now scribe the tanks cap when I set them up. I used a code once too, then forgot what my code was. Most of my tanks are three line and three of anything is hard for me to remember.
I just scribe in MAIN-VENT and FILL in small letters on the cap. Golden Years my Butt!!!!

For setup and running instructions see [link=http://saito-engines.info/throttle_setup.html]HERE[/link] It will help with most setup and running in problems.

Thanks to all that responded to my request with my engine problem. I went to the field today and had 3 season flyers check it out. The conclusion was that pressure within the engine is not pushing fuel through. I call Horizon today and they admitted this has been a problem with some of their engines. They requsted that the engine should be sent back to them for repairs. Turn around should only be about 3 days. So hopefully it should be back next week. Again, thanks to all that replied.

mrcool: If you have the Du-Bro refueling valve that has the little" flap cap " on it that they have on their fuel accessory add that could be your problem.. The tube that sticks out to put your fuel line on to refuel is also a valve. It needs to be pulled out to fuel then pushed back in to store ( fly ). It can be a little fussy the first few times you use it but they work fine once you see how they work. Reading the instructions when you get them also helps . ENJOY !!! RED
