this is a beginners forum...so I am going to say something first....an EDF jet will not make a good trainer.....So I am going to assume you know how to fly already....because the speed even of an EDF jet would not make a good platform to learn with....You'd be so far "behind" the airplane that you'd lose it.
I hear the Habu can be a turbine trainer

Yeah.. kind of a contradiction of words... beginner - jet.

Since the OP didn't state anything about his flying experience, I think this can be taken two ways.....

1) The OP has flying experience and wants to know what a good first EDF would be

or

2) The OP has no flying experience and wants to start off with an EDF for a first plane. If this is the case, then it sounds like its time to dust off this ol' classic......

But I do agree with jetmech that this is the beginners forum and EDF's don't make a good trainer.

If you already know how to fly and want something that has all the evil characteristics of a jet, you might just try strapping a bunch of weight right at the CG of a regular plane. Put an extra pound or so in a foam T28 or Apprentice and it won't be so forgiving anymore.

Then it'll high speed stall like a jet, have to be landed hot like a jet, won't respond to throttle as fast, etc, etc.
