i want to get into this hobby. I am thinking of getting a flight simulator to start with, i kind of like the pheonix simulator with the spectrum radio. Would that be a good start? also thinking of going to the aution in bloomington mn on feb. 11. Any advise on what i should look to buy? thanks in advance

It is a great idea to start with a simulator, and the Phoenix sim is a good one.
You'll probably want to start with a trainer - a high wing plane with a flat bottom or semi-symmetrical wing. There should be plenty to choose from at the auction!
Also, being you live in Owatonna, you'll want to get acquainted with the local club - the Southern Minnesota Model Aircraft Club (SMMAC for short). There are a lot of really nice people in the club, and I know they'd be willing to help you learn to fly as well!
Check out the SMMAC website: [link=http://www.smmac.com/Southern_Minnesota_Model_Aircraft_Club/Welcome.html]http://www.smmac.com/Southern_Minnesota_Model_Aircraft_Club/Welcome.html[/link]
Minnflyer and I will also be at the Auction, so stop and say "Hi".
I hope to see you there!
