Just had my first flights with the Avistar ARF yesterday and today. Yesterday was oNLY one flight cause we ran out of sunlight. Today was a blast! We flew for about 3 hours. I'm using a .46 FX with it, and it's plenty of power. Considering my lack of flight time (I had a trainer b4 this one, crashed after 3 flights due to mechanical prob), I did really well. Several smooth landings, and we did hand launch takeoffs cause the grass was a bit thick. Interestingly, the hand launches were very easy, the plane flies slow and the power of the .46 pulls the aircraft right up out of your hands.
With the .46 at 1/3rd power and practicing landing patterns the tank gave me about 25 min flying time. Some of the flights where we opened her up a bit the fuel went about 15 min or so.
I'm loving this plane!

Yea out there for three hours, can't give a solid time of total flight minutes. Fly, chat for five min, fly, chat for 10 min, always shutting radios in between, that sort of thing.

Congratulations! The Avistar was my first plane and you will find that it is a great one. One thing you will find...that flying for 15 and then talking for 10mins will change. I fly for 15, talk for much longer than 10mins, then fly for 15. I can do this for the whole day.

Are you flying at a baseball field or something? Park flyers are one thing, but you might consider joining a club (and getting AMA membership) with a 40-size glow machine..
