Dope???

A mix of Epoxy and Alcohol to thin it out works just fine. Mix the two so that you thin it out so can paint the engine compartment sufficiently and easily with enough volume to soak in and seal things, then let it set overnight, then fly the thing. You can use 5 minute epoxy, just mix it quickly then paint it in. Focus on the corners and edges to make sure you get plenty in there to soak in. Work quickly and set it aside to let it set up. It will come out smooth and clear and will fuel proof the engine compartment.
I also coat the wing saddle with this mix, right along where the wing will set on the fuselage.

Monokote has spray on dope. It smells like dope, takes a few coats to cover well, but appears to be fuel proof. It claims to be fuel proof. I sprayed my Kadet engine area, wing saddle, and fuel compartment with it and still have half a can left. It matches their covering perfectly too.
