Yes, you must have a prop on it to run it or you could over-rev the engine.

I really like doing break in and/or testing on a test stand where the fuel system is right where you can inspect it and I can take my time with it. I like to go to the field knowing how my engine likes to be primed, and confident everything is working about right so all it will need it a needle tweek. It's much more enjoyable that way, in my opinion. Good luck!

it was sufficient for training but not enough for a well seasoned pilot who just earned his wings
I just like reading this...

Guess I should ask '' Would you pay $60 for the TT GP42'' ? I'm not sure if I should be happy at that price or not? I mean in my mind, it could always be cheaper and that would make me happier , but may never be an reality.
Tower sells it for 85 so you got a good deal.

One more thing for those considering the OS .46 LA, I have read good things about performing a Davis Diesel conversion on this engine. The engine reportedly produces more power and torque. The carb is perfectly sized for diesel, which reduces fuel consumption. Might be fun experimentation.
