Just thought I'd share - go visit your local club - never know what you'll run into.

In preparation for a club sponsored air show, a special plane was put back in service ...

I've seen the pics of that one before, I think last Halloween from you. I'm still impressed by it. I don't suppose any plans exist for this monstrosity do they?

We have a flying lawnmower that we put together for an RC airshow. We made a skit with it and it really got the folks attending the airshow a real thrill. They were wondering what it was when we rolled it out.. then, once we started to approach the flightline, I heard several in the crowd say "Hey, they are going to fly that thing" and up it went. We had a blast with it as did the crowd.

Along that line here is my Porsche race car I built from the old RCM plans quite a few years back. If I remember correctly I used a .75 ST. It was a veteran of a fair number of shows and flyins for three or four years but is now expired. Can,t even remember where I screwed up but probably something dumb.

sorry no vidio

Last year I was going through a Model Airplane News, {{I think}} and on the last page was a photo of a flying witch but I recognized the fellow flying it and the designer. It was our own Minnflyer. He sent me the page for the building instructions, it was just a foamy with an electric motor. I didn't have the motor to build one at the time but I have one tacked to the shop wall. I hope the PM Mike sent me is still in my file so I can locate it again. A witch flying up and down my street at sun set on Halloween would give the other old folks a thrill. Yes, I live in an old folks home!! Kinda sorta.
Maybe Ken has the page?
I read that the plans are no longer available for the lawn mower. I think I saw the plans for the car in RCM though. All very cool and fun items to build and fly!!

Gene,
Yeah, I have it somewhere. I'll have to dig it up and I'll post it here when I find it.

There is a guy in Michigan that has/had one. I have not seen it in several years though. He flew it at airshows. It was so cool watching her float around on her cape being pulled by that glow engine. She was huge. I think he is from the Traverse City area.

I built the one that Minnflyer designed.  I still have it  but probably will only keep it as a keepsake.

Hi CGRetired
I wonder if possible you built my design. It is available free at our club website, www.wilsonrc.org. Just click under DOWNLOADS. Here is a photo of it in the air. I eventually crashed mine after flying it for about 5 years. I would love to see another in the air.

I don't know quite yet. But I'll figure it out. I'm thinking about putting up some kind of small memorial to Mike on the GettingAirborne.com site. I know it's been a bit now since Mike died, but I'm just now getting to the point that I can work with it. Losing Mike hit me a bit harder than I care to admit. He was one of my best friends. In fact, he was probably more like a brother than anything else. It sucks that he's gone!!!

Sorry, but the witch that Mike came with is much different than the one that is sold at FlyingThingz. I talked with Mike when he was designing his witch and his goal was to create something that you can fly up and down the street when kids are trick or treating, or indoors at a big Halloween party. Unfortunately a glow power witch pretty much rules out any flying on a street or indoors in a gym. That's why his is electric and not too large

I know. For that purpose electric is the way to go. The post wasn't related to a specific model.
I wanted something bigger and glow power, for event at our field, we have too much wind to fly anything that small. So I might end up
getting the flyingthingz witch, just looking if someone has plans, they should come together fairly simple.
